My mom told me that red carnations were her mother’s favourite flowers after she was no longer among us.
I didn’t know her well, but somehow I understood her core — the strongest in the family.
I’m so glad they were red carnations.
Like the red carnations of my Portugal.
I want to believe it’s a sign. I need to believe that everything has a purpose.
The red carnations of my Portugal are a beautiful reminder of freedom.
Looking at them, I’ll always be thinking of her and thanking Portugal for bringing me peace.
